The Essential Guide to Accommodation & Services along
The Ridgeway National Trail
The 2006 edition of The Ridgeway National Trail Companion, giving details of accommodation, facilities & services along the Trail, is now available from the National Trails Office. This popular, practical guide for day visitors, and long distance walkers and riders, contains details of nearly 100 places to stay, as well as considerable information about the towns, villages and attractions on and near the Trail. Attractively presented with numerous photographs, the guide covers the whole length of The Ridgeway from the start of the Trail in the Avebury World Heritage Site in Wiltshire to Ivinghoe Beacon in Buckinghamshire.
"The Companion is a one-stop shop for anyone wanting to visit The Ridgeway" commented Jos Joslin,
the National Trails Manager. "We've divided it into six convenient sections, mirroring the official National Trail Guide, and provided detailed information enabling anyone to plan a great day out or a walk or ride of the whole Trail over several days". With easy to follow icons for the services, visitors to The Ridgeway will know where they can stop for a bar meal at a pub, get money out of a bank cash machine, or find a grocery store open on a Sunday morning.
The Ridgeway National Trail Companion is available from the National Trails Office by sending a cheque payable to "National Trails Trading" for £5.50 (inc. p&p) to: National Trails Office, Environment & Economy, Holton, OXFORD, OX33 1QQ.
